description

The British Film Institute delivers a range of high-level cultural and cinema events on an annual basis across London.

The 63rd BFI London Film Festival http://www.bfi.org.uk/lff (LFF), is the UK's largest public film event, presenting Academy Award-winning premieres with A-list film talent in attendance, during 12 days in October every year. The dates for 2019 are the 2nd - 13th October, and dates for following years are likely to be within the same or similar two-week period. The BFI also delivers BFI Flare: London's LGBTQ+ Film Festival, one of the world's most significant and long-standing LGBTQ+ film events. BFI Flare takes place in March each year, and is a 12 day festival showcasing the best LGBTQ+ features and shorts plus a wide range of special events, guest appearances, and club nights

Throughout the year, the BFI Cinemas & Events team delivers an extensive programme of cultural events programming and corporate hires at BFI Southbank https://whatson.bfi.org.uk/Online/default.asp (BFI SB).

These include red carpet premieres; high-level talent on-stage interviews and artistic performances; VIP receptions requiring full-building closure; and large-scale conferences and product launches.

BFI SB hosts approximately 60 events throughout the year requiring special event security. On occasion the BFI also delivers high-level external talent events and fundraising galas requiring special events security at a range of London venues.

In 2018, The 62nd BFI London Film Festival welcomed audiences of over 170,000 across 14 London cinema sites during 12 days, as well as an additional UK-wide audience of over 40,000. The Festival screened a total of c230 fiction and documentary features, including 22 World Premieres, 9 International Premieres, 27 European Premieres and 23 Archive films and screenings of 160 live action and animated shorts, all from in excess of 70 countries. It welcomed 900 filmmaker guests over half of which came from international territories. Industry screenings and events were attended by over 1428 industry delegates and 995 press delegates.

The BFI is tendering to engage a provider of a full service solution for concurrent red carpet event security project management; film talent close protection security; outdoor and in-cinema crowd control; and VIP reception access security during the annual BFI London Film Festival, and on an as-required basis for cultural and corporate events at the BFI Southbank and London hospitality venues throughout the year.
