description
This survey is intended to be a successor to the previous diary surveys and be comparable to TALIS. The department anticipates this successor survey will, in combination with TALIS, be the first of a biennial survey to monitor teacher workload and working hours using robust metrics. Where possible it will allow for comparison with previous workload studies, though the department recognises the inherent difficulties and limitations of these. The survey will involve a representative, robust sample of teachers and headteachers from primary, secondary and special schools across England in maintained schools, academies and free schools. The sample will not include independent schools, sixth form colleges or Pupil Referral Units.
