Awarded via. a waiver of contract standing orders for contracts valued at less than the UK procurement threshold (single tender), in accordance of section 12 of Hampshire County Council's Contract Standing Orders.

This contract is a continuation of archaeological services along the route of the Botley Bypass project, which have previously been delivered via. the Strategic Partner Contract. The services to date has been carried out by Wessex Archaeology Limited, who have been subcontracted via. HCC's Strategic Partner (Atkins Limited).

The services are required to discharge archaeological planning conditions, pertaining to Botley Bypass and include the following:

  • Archaeological works to Mitigation Areas A to C of Botley Bypass to include excavation by strip and sample investigation of areas identified during previous works undertaken by Wessex Archaeology in 2020.
  • Production of archaeological fieldwork reports and accompanying interim statement, produced for planning application purposes
  • Undertaking of specialist analysis where relevant
  • Production of Post Excavation Assessments (PXA) and Updated Project Design
