description
The purpose of this expression of interest (EOI) is to engage with potential contractors with a background working in the museum, cultural and heritage sector; to deliver on the new interpretive design for the Museum of Watford. The Council will use this exercise to shortlist bidders to tender following an engagement exercise. Please complete the EOI form which contains the initial Conditions of Participation.
The proposal for the Museum of Watford looks to update the town hall facilities and strengthen the cultural connections within Watford; this includes providing new museum galleries, a suite of shared spaces between the council and museum, a café, retail space, multi-purpose space and community gallery, learning space, resource and staff rooms. The overarching objective for this project is to create a space that is not only functional and safe, but also enhances the visitor experience and preserves the integrity of the exhibits, ensuring that the solutions implemented represent the best value for money, and help the Council meet it's net zero and environmental sustainability objectives.
Following the submission of expressions of interest, the Council will score the submissions and the Council would ideally like to run an engagement exercise with the selected contractors in April/May as part of a review of the current Museum of Watford vision, procurement strategy and project programme; before the release of the final tender. This is to help inform the current thinking around the project and create a collaborative approach towards delivering a successful project.
Please review the Expression of Interest document and the presentation that provides an overview of the scheme.
Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
