GB-Scarborough: GC-18-169 Internal audit services

We require a comprehensive internal audit service that will:

•Work with the Head of Business Intelligence to determine our audit needs to ensure all aspects of our internal control framework are assessed on a regular basis

•Prepare a risk based annual audit plan with a commitment to the provision of expert and/or specialist resource to deliver our requirements

•Incorporate best practice within reports so that we can improve the economy, efficiency and effectiveness of our internal control framework

•Issue findings to our Audit and Risk Committee and the Executive Team, incorporating management responses and agreed target dates

•Carry out regular follow up activity to assess the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions - we would welcome the provision of quarterly follow ups through the internal audit contract •Prepare an annual report on the status of our system of internal controls, highlighting both areas of concern and improvements made between audit years to incorporate best practice •Liaise with external auditors to ensure their work complements statutory audits

•Attend quarterly Audit and Risk Committee meetings, at either Redcar or Scarborough, in order to present reports and delivering training and awareness as required.

Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
