Dog Kennelling Service on the Isle of Wight for Stray Dogs

The Isle of Wight Council ("the Authority") invites Quotes from suitably qualified suppliers ("Potential Suppliers") for the provision of Dog Kennelling Service on the Isle of Wight for Stray Dogs.

The Isle of Wight Council under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 are responsible for seizing and detaining any dog which is believed to be straying.

At times when an owner cannot be immediately located the dog must be safely housed until it can be returned to its owner. The Council is therefore seeking tenders from suitable facilities for the safe housing of stray dogs for a period of three years commencing on 1st October 2023.

During 2021/22 a total of 35 (30 outside office hours) dogs were seized, these dogs remained in kennels collectively for 75 days.

The term of the contract shall be 1 October 2023 until 30 September 2026 with the option to extend for up to a further 36 months at the sole discretion of the Authority.

The closing date for receipt of Quotes is 14:00Hrs on 8 August 2023.
