description

Work with the Insolvency Service Board, Executive Committee and other Corporate contributors to facilitate development of a clearly articulated strategy for the future direction of the agency.

The outputs of this work will:
oProvide the strategic foundations for the development of a Strategic Business Plan and a business case to support Spending Review submissions; and
oHelp develop a portfolio of projects and change delivery plan to deliver the strategy.
Whilst delivering the Strategic Business Plan and SR business case is outside scope, a key output from this role is the production of a set of clear recommendations as to how the strategy work should be taken forward as part of the SBP and SR.

Specifically, the requirements are to:

Facilitate a review and evaluation of the agency's current strategic position and environment in which it operates (both internal and external), using appropriate strategic models e.g. SWOT, PEST.
Engage with the Executive Committee to validate the initial information gathered, obtain a clear shared direction of where they want the agency to go in the future and an understanding of any parameters or boundaries within which the strategy needs to be developed;
Taking the outputs from the review of the agency's current strategic position and initial engagement with the Executive Committee, plan, manage and facilitate a 1-day Strategic Review workshop for the Insolvency Service Board (ISB) in mid-July (this will be a virtual meeting);
Facilitate the workshop with the Insolvency Service Board (ISB) to ensure that it generates content that will help create the strategic direction for the agency. This will include progressing the agreement of strategic aims, discussing the issues and options related to those and a review of the priorities of the ISB;
Take the outputs from the workshop, and continue to engage with the Executive Committee to assist them in shaping the new strategy for the future direction of the agency, which will be agreed by the CEO/ExCom/ISB;
Facilitate a review of existing individual business areas' strategies to assess whether they support the findings from the strategic review, assist in the identification of any gaps and make recommendations to any areas that require future development;
Working with the Executive Committee, map, at a high level, the numerous change activities/projects that will to enable us to deliver the strategy;
Set out a framework of next steps as to how the findings from the strategic review can be used going forward to develop a Strategic Business Plan and Spending Review business case; and
Produce a written report, supported by a presentation, that clearly articulates the agreed future strategy, a summary of how existing strategies align to this, which areas the agency needs to develop further to achieve the future strategy and how the strategy work should be taken forward as part of the development of a Strategic Business Plan and Spending Review bc
