description

Dorset County Council wishes to purchase a Housing Related Support and Care & Support Service for Service Users at Trailway Court Trailway Court is an extra care scheme located in Park Road, Blandford Forum, Dorset, DT11 7BX. It was completed in 2011. The scheme comprises 40 one or two bedroom flats and associated facilities including lounges, laundry, guest facilities, hobby room, hairdressing salon and assisted bathing room. The scheme is provided for Service Users who:- Have, or are predicted to have in the near future, personal care and support needs which can be effectively and appropriately met within the Scheme; Are likely to derive benefits to their health and well-being from living in this setting in preference to a more specialist setting, for example residential care; Are able to cope with the independent living aspects of the scheme; Require stable, supported accommodation on a long term basis; and Can be satisfactorily supported by services routinely provided at the scheme. The service aims to assist Service Users to develop or maintain their independence within the community thus preventing loss of their home or tenancy and the otherwise unnecessary use of more institutional forms of care. The contract is to commence on 01 October 2015 and expire on 30 September 2018 (three years). There is an option to extend for a further period of up to three years (in any combination ie 3 years, 1+1+1, 2+1 etc). Any extension will be dependent upon the continued availability of funding and performance of the Provider during the contract period. Potential providers should be aware that TUPE may apply and the Purchaser advises that organisations should contact the existing providers for all information that may be required in relation to their bid. It is also recommended that organisations seek independent legal advice in relation to any TUPE transfer. Contact details regarding TUPE information are provided within the tender guidance document.
