The Council is looking to implement a new, more sustainable model of operation and development of the publicly accessible EV charging network in the city. This is in the context of a city facing significant air quality challenges and the resultant introduction of a Clean Air Zone over the next few years. In order to help improve emissions from traffic, the city council will facilitate the uptake of Ultra Low and Zero Emission Vehicles in Birmingham through development of an EV charge point network.

The contract will commence in October 2018 for duration of 7 years with an option to extend for a further 3 years subject to satisfactory performance.
