description
The Christie charity launched its weekly lottery in October 2014 as part of the Unity Lottery scheme. Players sign up by direct debit or cheque to play on a regular weekly basis and can win up to £25,000. The Christie currently receives a proportion of every £1 played. Player numbers have been steadily increasing each week with over 3,500 entries reached by March 2016. We now have an ambitious target to recruit 9,000 entries by the end of March 2017.
The Christie charity has trialled a face to face recruitment campaign on private sites in the North West such as shopping centres throughout 2015/16, recruiting over 100 entries per week to enable the charity to increase its player base quickly.
We understand that a level of attrition is unavoidable when recruiting through face to face fundraising and therefore expect player recruitment to include a minimum of 10% extra to allow for attrition at no further cost to The Christie charity and a maximum of 2 lines allowed per person to reduce risk.
The Christie charity is a well-recognised and much loved organisation in the North West with a strong brand. It is essential that this brand is protected and that recruitment of players is carried out in a professional and sensitive manner whilst delivering results. We do not agree with the use of high pressure sales techniques. The ethos of The Christie and passion for the cause must be delivered throughout the campaign. This will include a restriction on door to door recruitment.
