The Materials Characterisation and Heavy Structures Laboratories have two roles:
- To provide engineering students with a hands-on experience of materials characterisation and analysis techniques using industry standard equipment and testing methods.
- To provide a facility for materials characterisation and analysis of a broad range of engineering materials and small components for research and commercial applications.
