NUN - Kitchens & Bathrooms Installations

Background

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council (NBBC) manage in the region of 6,000 dwellings, most of which are tenanted properties. NBBC are currently seeking a Service Provider to undertake the Installation Program for Kitchens and Bathrooms in properties located in Nuneaton, Bedworth and the surrounding areas.

Further information on the full scope of services will be set out in the Invitation to Tender (ITT). The Authority will award the contract dependant upon criteria stated in the ITT. The overall criteria for award will be based on most economically advantageous tender (MEAT) being a combination of cost and quality.

TUPE will apply to this contract and Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council are seeking to appoint a suitable Service Provider that has a clear understanding of their legal responsibility in this regard. As yet, the Council does not hold TUPE information but intends to provide this at the Invitation to Tender stage.

Finally, the appointment of the Kitchen and Bathrooms Installations Provider will be for an initial period of 3 years, with the option to extend for two further 1 year periods (up to a maximum of 5 years), subject to performance and the client’s overall procurement strategy.

Contract

The contract to be awarded will be a single contractor term contract. The proposed form of contract will be the JCT Measured Term Contract 2011. NBBC will award the contract dependant upon criteria stated in the Invitation to Tender (ITT).

The Works

The contract will be awarded to a company with a proven record of undertaking this type of work as a Principal Contractor.

The general works will consist of the management, tenant liaison, safety checking, and installation of a program of installation of Kitchen and Bathrooms as detailed in the Invitation to Tender (ITT).

Property Numbers

The above numbers are subject to confirmation they may vary during the course of the contract, and will be slightly amended if you are successful in reaching the ITT stage.

All property numbers and values are subject to constant fluctuation and guarantees against reduced or increased numbers cannot be given before or during the contract period.

Value of Works

The contract value is estimated to be in the region of £1,800,000 - £2,500,000 per annum – Total contract sum estimate for the contract period would be £5,400,000 - £7,500,000 – including extension periods would be £9,000,000 - £ 12,500,000
