description
Heart of Hastings Community Land Trust have been awarded public grant funding for shopfront/fabric improvements within Hastings, funded by Historic England.
We are therefore seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified, experienced and interested Contractors and Trades who can form a Framework to be called upon to either be directly appointed or to Tender for the work as it becomes available for the current and for future renovation projects.
Architectural Services have been appointed and will undertake contract administrator duties for the initial shopfront/fabric improvement, covered by the first public grant award. These are likely to include three high level projects in the Trinity Triangle Heritage Action Zone. Once the unit holders sign relevant commitment paperwork, design work will immediately commence and swiftly conclude because this initial work will need to be completed on site between November 2022 and March 2023 to meet the grant funding requirements.
A qualifying aspect of return of EOI is that Trades can supply a 3rd Party Warranty to be established between Contractor and the Leaseholder/Freeholder of the units.
The projects will vary in scope and so the Framework will be necessarily broad. Project value will range between £18,000 and £70,000.
Because of this, the Land Trust are specifically looking for the following services: -
•General contractor•Shop fitter•Facades/ render/masonry
•Joiner•Carpenter •Glazier•Painter/decorator•Scaffolder •Sign writer
•Services/electrics
To qualify for inclusion on the Framework, such Contractors and Trades would be expected to demonstrate previous experience of the following :-
•Working in conservation areas and/or on listed buildings•Working on shops remaining open during works•Working adjacent to pedestrian routes/high streets•Managing pavement closures/ licenses.
To qualify for inclusion on the Framework, such Contractors and Trades are also required to evidence annual turnover in excess of £140,000 per financial year (though this can include turnover from parent/subsidiary companies if needed provided you agree that those parent/subsidiary companies supply us with a Parent Company Guarantee in such form as we reasonably require).
If you are interested in being considered for the Framework, we would be grateful to receive :-
•Confirmation of your Interest, detailing which of the above Trade/Contractor Categories you are applying under•A summary of your experience in the fields outlined above, detailing specific project case studies where possible.•Last three years Financial Accounts•Confirmation of your capacity to undertake such works during the Nov 22 to March 23 window•Ditto in the following year (Apr 23 - Mar 24).•Schedule of Labour rates Your submission should be returned by noon on Friday 2nd September 2022, to Charlotte Penlington by email - charlotte@hastingscommons.com.
Similarly, any queries prior to submission be submitted by email to charlotte@hastingscommons.com.
