description

Support and maintenance of the MCA owned Geostationary and Low-Earth Orbit Ground Stations.

The GEOLUT and LEOLUT units are part of the international set of COSPAS-SARSAT Ground Stations that together provide coverage of the surface of the earth to allow satellites to detect emergency positioning indicating radio beacons (EPRIB's) and pass the location data of the emergency signal to Search and Rescue Services.

Formally contracted support of this hardware is essential, including both proactive (scheduled) and reactive (fault rectification) maintenance to be provided by the suitably qualified and capable personnel. This support can only be provided by the system manufacturer and is required in order for the MCA to retain COSPAS-SARSAT approval for inclusion of the UK systems into the international SAR response capability.
