description
North East Essex CCG (The CCG) is seeking suitably qualified service providers to engage in the development of its End of Life Care Services.
Following a recent successful Request For Information exercise, a Pre-Tender Market Engagement event will now be held on Thursday 26th May 2016 at 9:30 am at North East Essex CCG, Primary Care Centre, Turner Road, Colchester, Essex CO45JR. (Coffee and refreshments will be available from 9am)
The overall vision for End of Life Care in north east Essex is that patients approaching the end of their life should be treated as individuals in relation to their emotional, physical and psychological needs, cared for with dignity and respect, be free from pain and other symptoms, in familiar surroundings in the company of family, friends and carers, should this be their wish.
The CCG’s 5-year End of Life Care Strategy is attached below as Appendix 1 - End of Life Care Strategy for NEE CCG. The CCG intends to commission an integrated service model (attached below as Appendix 2 – End of Life Care Model 2016).
The Market Engagement event will provide a further opportunity to consult with stakeholders and for prospective service providers to:-
| • | Learn more about End of Life care services in north east Essex |
| • | Share information about services that they are able to provide or develop |
The format of the event will be a Presentation from the CCG followed by a 30-minute Q & A session. Following the Presentation, we are keen to make available individual 20-minute 1-to-1 slots with interested potential providers to answer more detailed questions and capture feedback and innovative concepts. The information gathered will be used to inform the CCG’s service model for End of Life Care services and future procurement plan.
An indicative procurement timetable will be provided during the event, however, we anticipate the new service would commence on 1st April 2017 and would be for a duration of 4years plus a possible 2-year extension.
To register and participate in this Pre-Tender Market Engagement event, please complete and return the attached booking form to sarah.mitchell5@nhs.net by 12noon on Monday 23rd May 2016. Please ensure that you confirm within the booking form whether or not you are interested in an individual 1-to-1 slot with the Commissioners.
Please note – due to limitations of space we would ask that organisations send a maximum of two representatives each.
Also note that any expenditure, work or effort undertaken by you prior to any subsequent procurement is a matter solely for your own commercial judgement. The CCG reserves the right to withdraw from the process at any time or to not tender the service(s) or to tender on a different basis. In such circumstances, and in any event, the CCG and/or its advisors shall not be liable for any costs or loss of expenses whatsoever incurred by the you.
