description
The Council invites organisations to submit a tender for the provision of an Appropriate Adults Services, a statutory obligation brought in with the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984. This service is for Local authorities to arrange access for Appropriate Adults, whilst children, young people and for those that are vulnerable are detained in custody.
The Appropriate Adult Service is for both young people and vulnerable adults living in Croydon and Sutton, publicly funded. This service is aimed to provide independent support to people being kept in custody, for questioning about a crime or in a related sensitive situation.
The Council intends to establish a contract that will be issued by Croydon Council and will be available to Sutton Council via an access agreement for the full two years with an option to extend for a further one year (2+1). Each authority will be responsible for their own spend under the contract.
This procurement is to establish a single source supplier who is experienced and qualified in the delivery of Appropriate Adults Services. Tenderers can apply by completing the documents via the London Tenders Portal.

The anticipated contract start date will be no later than the 1st December 2020.
The Council is orientating this as an Open procurement procedure under the Light Touch Regime in accordance with PCR 2015. The Council does not hold itself bound by the Regulations except to the extent that they apply to the light touch regime as set out in Regulations 74 to 76 of the Regulations.
The Council requires the successful Service Providers to comply with the London Living Wage.
