CURRENT SITUATION
The University of Derby is a vibrant and forward-thinking institution committed to providing high-quality education and research opportunities. With a history dating back to 1851, it has evolved into a modern university offering a diverse range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs across multiple disciplines. The University is known for its innovative teaching methods, strong industry links, and dedication to student success. It prides itself on fostering a supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to explore their passions, develop critical thinking skills, and prepare for successful careers. Additionally, the University of Derby is renowned for its commitment to inclusivity, sustainability, and community engagement, making it a respected institution both nationally and internationally.
Currently, the University's timetabling and attendance monitoring processes are fragmented and hampered by the use of disparate and ageing systems. This disjointed setup not only leads to a subpar end-user experience but also presents significant challenges in management and efficiency.
Administrative staff face inefficiencies in managing timetabling activities, with limited integration and outdated technology, maintaining these systems becomes increasingly burdensome and resource-intensive. As a result, there is a pressing need for a comprehensive solution that can unify these processes, streamline operations, and deliver a seamless experience for both users and administrators alike.
OUR AIMS - WHAT WE WANT TO ACHIEVE
The University of Derby seeks to streamline its operations by consolidating disparate systems and integrating functionalities into a unified solution or platform. This strategic move aims to enhance efficiency, improve data accuracy, and provide a seamless user experience for students and staff alike. By consolidating, the University anticipates better data visibility, streamlined workflows, and increased productivity, ultimately enabling it to better serve its stakeholders.
