description
The Secretary of State for Health acting through Public Health England (PHE) is seeking to appoint suppliers to a Public Health Microbiology Framework Agreement for diagnostics and development including research and development and manufacturing supplies and services.
The term of the framework agreement will be 2 years with options to extend by up to a further 2 years.
The framework agreement will include, but not be limited to, the supply of diagnostics goods or services for the qualitative/quantitative examination of specimens/samples or the development or manufacturing of assays/kits/medication.
The framework is intended to be accessed by UK Public Sector bodies including Public Health Wales, NHS Health Scotland, The Public Health Agency (Northern Ireland), National Institute for Biological Standards and Control, Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, NHS Blood and Transplant, Department for International Development, Animal and Plant Health Agency, Defence Science and Technology Laboratory. Apart from the aforementioned bodies, the framework agreement is NOT intended to be accessed by NHS Trusts or NHS Foundation Trusts.
The framework value range is an estimate only and the values may vary dependent on the requirements of Public Health England and the public sector bodies which may choose to participate and purchase supplies and services over the life of the framework agreement. The framework value range of 80 000 000 to 120 000000 GBP is approximate only and the values will be to such level as those purchasing under the Framework Agreement consider necessary to provide suitable requirements.
Public Health England is a national and international emergency responder to current and emerging threats to public health. PHE reserve the right to purchase the same or similar supplies and/or services from suppliers not appointed to the Framework Agreement at its sole discretion, e.g. for economic or technical reasons.
The framework is split into two lots.
Lot 1 - Diagnostics - Diagnostics equipment, consumables and maintenance supplies and related services.
Lot 2 - Development - Equipment, maintenance, consumables, products and services for the purpose of research, experimentation,study or development.
