Market Engagement - Developing Above Car Parks

The ever growing need for housing be it low cost social housing, first time buyer or mixed housing developments is a key strategic concern for many local authorities, county councils and housing associations in the UK, as well as central government. This immediately removes the cost of procuring or selling any land for a potential developer, thus reducing the final cost of the property to the market. The council therefore wishes to understand the market potential and interest for such projects and is inviting prospective developers to submit initial proposals and designs to construct housing above car parks. Following this activity and depending on the level of interest the council is likely to conduct either one to one meetings or a group forum to further understand the potential and scope of works, with the view of running a tender activity.
