description

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust has five cafes on hospital sites. This project is to consider the feasibility of turning the five cafes into social enterprises. Our ambition is to provide people who use our services with mental health issues and learning disabilities, the opportunity to train and gain employment. We are looking for a specialist consultancy partner with specific experience of social enterprises including social enterprise cafes (later point desirable but not essential). This would be an exciting venture for the Trust to further establish our social impact as a foundation trust. Supporting people who use our services to engage in meaningful activity and creating life changing opportunities. We would like to offer a wide range of high quality, healthy, eating options to people using the cafes. Feedback from family and friends includes a desire for longer opening times to include late afternoon, evenings and weekends i.e. peak visiting times. We would also like to provide staff with access to food during unsocial hours. The role of the consultant will be to work alongside the Oxfordshire Mental Health Partnership Manager to conduct a feasibility study into whether all five cafes can be turned into social enterprises. The consultant would help identify potential providers OHFT could partner with. The consultant would support the development and running of an evaluative process for a potential provider who could work in partnership with OHFT in delivering the social enterprise cafes. It would be desirable that the consultant is part of the project group/evaluation panel. The consultant would be required to understand that working within the NHS there are certain governance conditions.
