description
The London Borough o Hillingdon ("LB Hillingdon") has recently been granted funding through the GLA's High Streets for All Challenge to co-design an innovative high street recovery strategy. As part of this process, LB Hillingdon is looking to commission a suitably qualified consultancy team to work with the borough on a strategic masterplan for Uxbridge town centre.
The skills of the consultant team should encompass expertise in urban design, transport, economic regeneration and delivery experience. We expect proposals from fully integrated teams led by master planners working in partnership with relevant experts.
The masterplan is intended to deliver the Council's aspirations for Uxbridge town centre. The proposed masterplan will establish a high-level spatial strategy and delivery plan that will serve as an evidence base for the upcoming Local Plan and form a material consideration in determining any planning applications.
There is an expectation that one of our key partners Brunel university will undertake the majority of consultation with regard to perceived challenges and solutions. There is therefore no need for a full consultation strategy however the chosen consultancy will need to engage with Brunel to ensure there is not a duplication of effort and that Brunel has access to any proposals the chosen consultancy develop, so it can undertake the public engagement it has planned. There is an expectation that the chosen consultancy will support Brunel if requested in the delivery of specific consultation events.
