This opportunity has previously been advertised as a future opportunity on contracts finder and also OJEU. OJEU reference 2017/S 167-343698.
NHS North Staffordshire and NHS Stoke on Trent CCGs serve a registered population of approximately
502,000 people. The CCGs are considering the possible procurement of an Adult Community Minor Hand
Surgery Service for the population of Northern Staffordshire, using a single provider route. The community
based service shall provide high quality minor hand surgical procedures for Carpal Tunnel Decompression and
Trigger Finger Release as part of the orthopaedic/musculoskeletal pathway.
The overarching aims of the service are to provide:
- A high quality, cost effective and patient centred surgical procedures for people with Carpal Tunnel and
Trigger Finger.
- Timely access to reduce waiting times and achievement of the 18 week referral to treatment target.
- Community based provision, offering an alternative to secondary care
- Clinically effective treatments that reduce the demand on secondary care (acute) services and reduce the
need for more costly interventions

Additional information: This procurement is for clinical services which are Light Touch Regime services for the purpose of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 as specified in Schedule 3 of the Regulations ("Regulations"). Accordingly, the contracting authorities are only bound by those parts of the Regulations detailed in Chapter 3 Particular Procurement Regimes Section 7.
