GB-Wimborne: Wimborne Hospital Day Surgery Unit Refurbishment

The proposed contract for the refurbishment includes the strip out of services to the area of the works, alterations and additions to galvanised steel trunking and conduit containment, installation of new lighting, emergency lighting and small power, alterations to the fire alarm system, alterations to the nurse call system, work to the door access control and security systems and the provision of three-phase power supplies to mechanical plant all serving the day surgery recovery ward.

The proposed contract for the refurbishment includes the supply, Installation, testing and commissioning of replacement LPHW heating services, hot and cold water services, air conditioning plant and associated air supply and extract ductwork, refrigerant heating and cooling equipment, thermal insulation, structural steel support structure with platform for the air conditioning plant, system control panel, controls and associated electrical services all serving the day surgery recovery ward.

The mechanical services contractor will be a sub-contractor to the principal contractor who will be responsible for the associated building works including formation and making good of holes through the roof structure, ceilings and walls for air ducts, the foundations for the structural support frame and platform and protection of the roofs in the working areas.

Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
