description

From the simplicity of the historic kitchens to the magnificence of the Stateroom the Mansion House has stood majestically in St Helen's Square for nearly 300 hundred years and has always played an intrinsic part to city life. The house is the official residence of the Lord Mayor and plays host to a plethora of official civic functions and has enjoyed the honour and privilege of looking after several royals and assorted dignitaries. Throughout its history the Mansion House has opened it doors to a variety of external functions and catered for distinguished dinners and executive conferences, its versatility is vast.

The house is currently undergoing the largest restoration since it was built in 1726 with the plan to increase public access, interaction and learning for the citizens of York and to the wider tourist population that flock to York annually. In order to capture and harness its potential it has been agreed that the house should employ a single catering company whose standards of excellence are high and whom are committed and capable of delivering the highest quality of food and service to both civic and private functions.
