description

The School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Nottingham is looking to buy a UV mask aligner. The substrates being handled range in size from 10mm x 10mm pieces to 3 inch wafers; as part of a long term investment strategy we would like the new mask aligner to be able to handle wafers as large as 6 inch diameter to allow for increases in substrate dimensions in the future. Substrate materials include gallium arsenide, silicon, quartz and sapphire. Standard resists in use at the moment range from 1.4 micron AZ5214E to thicker SU-8 and KMPR resists which can be up to 50 microns in thickness. Users of the new tool will range from expert users with several decades of experience to new postgraduates being trained in fabrication as part of their PhD programme.
