description

Screening for drugs of abuse is a mandatory requirement for initiation of structured drug treatment, treatment compliance and determination of adherence to court orders - or rehabilitation interventions. Legislated for within the Crime and Disorder Act 1998.
In Derby City there are approximately 1300 people in drug treatment (annually) who require screening twice prior to the commencement of treatment and thereafter a minimum of every 3 months to meet good practice guidance.
Urine screens, instant oral mouth swabs and in certain exceptional circumstances a laboratory screen and analysis may be required therefore are within the scope of the contract.
