Introduction

Grimsby Institute Group (The Group) invites all suitably qualified companies to tender for boiler servicing and the issue of an annual safety certificate. This will be for both gas and oil powered appliances. The tender is for approximately 100 commercial appliances of various different makes and power specifications. They are situated across 18 different sites in North East Lincolnshire, Lincolnshire and North Yorkshire.

Each boiler asset listed on every site requires a service to the standards requested by The Group, or better. An annual landlord gas safety certificate or OFTEC CD/11 form (as applicable) is expected to be issued for assets that meet the most recent statutory legislation in addition to a service report.

The successful Tenderer will ensure The Group adheres to its legal responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974, the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 and Pressure Vessel Regulations 2000.

Tenderers will be required to:

On successfully being awarded the Tender, provide a service that covers the following specification criteria or better, in accordance with the most recent regulations associated with boilers, and gas appliances:

Work closely with the Estates Officer to ensure that heating disruptions do not affect site operations.
Perform a visual inspection for defects of non compliance
Dismantle, inspect & clean the burner assembly, main & pilot jets, flame sensor and ignition probes as a minimum.
Clean/vacuum heat exchanger & combustion chamber to remove debris.
Ensure flue terminals are unobstructed and internal flue components are sealed
Ensure burner is combusting at its most efficiently (using a flue gas analyser and adjusting gas/oil valve if required)
All wiring to be neatly cable tied.
Boiler casing to be wiped clean
Perform a gas tightness test
Boiler casing to be reattached neatly
Perform a visual inspection of associated pumps, pipe work and expansion vessels
Identify any remedial work required to comply with the most recent statutory legislation

Publish a service report for each appliance in hard copy and electronic format for The Group's Estates Department.

Publish an annual gas safety certificate or OFTEC CD/11 form for each appliance in hard copy and electronic format for The Group Estates Department.

The Group may not require all assets listed to be serviced and reserves the right to make the final decision on the number of assets (including new addition) it requires servicing or assessed for safety certification.

Any remedial work identified will be subject to separate quotation/tenders, and will be available to other contractors and or organisations to quote for.
