BHCC DH Brighton BID Waiver

The Brighton BID (Brilliant Brighton) was formed to create a thriving, safe, clean and vibrant city centre that residents and visitors want to come back to time and time again. Brilliant Brighton focuses on creating a safer environment for visitors, producing exciting Christmas light displays and dressing the city for summer with hanging baskets, bunting and banners as well as events and marketing to support the business base.

The BID also works with businesses to support trading in other ways by reducing overheads and providing business support. By working in partnership with agencies such as the Police, City Council, the Business Crime Reduction Partnership and transport operators it aims to deliver a sustainable city centre for everyone that lives, works and visits here.

A BID operates for a five-year period and is subject to renewal, voted on by the businesses that are resident within the BID area. The current BID runs to 2026 and there is a need to:

• i)commence the work programme for the BID's renewal; and
• ii)to explore the feasibility of either expanding the existing city centre BID or creating an additional BID in another part of the city.
