Defra - UnITy Programme - Hosting and Application Management

This opportunity is for delivery of a National Hosting and Applications Management service under the UnITy Hosting work stream. Defra wishes to engage with potential suppliers of hosting and applications management services to enable us to understand both probable options and supplier interest ahead of the impending replacement of all of the existing hosting and applications management services.

The existing Hosting and Applications Management services are provided to Defra and its associated agencies (Natural England, The Environment Agency, The Rural Payments Agency, Marine Management Organisation and The Animal and Plant Health Agency) by IBM and Capgemini. Both contracts are prime end to end contracts delivering all end user ICT services.

The Hosting and Applications Management work stream shall procure the following services.

Data Centre Services:

• Data Centre Facilities and Management
• Rack Space
• Intelligent Hands

Hosting Services:

• IaaS
• PaaS
• SaaS

(aligned to the NIST principles for cloud computing)

Applications Management & Support:

• Application provisioning
• Release Management
• Refresh
• Application Lifecycle Management
