GP Direct Access to Radiology Diagnostic Services for Scarborough and Ryedale CCG Market Engagement - RFI

NHS Scarborough and Ryedale CCG are seeking information from providers of Radiology Diagnostic Services as part of an early market engagement exercise.

For the proposed service the provider will deliver a range of Outpatient/community based imaging services that are directly accessible by primary care for patients within Scarborough and Ryedale CCG boundary.

The proposed services will include provision for:

• Plain X-Ray
• Computerised Tomography (CT)
• Dexa Scan
• Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
• Non-obstetric Ultrasound (US)

The overall aim of the proposed service is to improve the access and increase capacity for the benefit of our patient population.

The proposed service should achieve the following outcomes:

• Provide optimum clinical support for primary care to enable joint coordination of care for the specified population by:  Working collaboratively with primary care

 Access to diagnostic services in a timely manner

• Ensure patients have access to the appropriate professional in the appropriate setting at the right time

• To support seamless transition between services

• To ensure proposed pathways are followed, within NICE recommendations, and variances reviewed and actioned

Additional information: The Commissioner would like to invite Provider’s to share their views and experiences of GP Direct access to Radiology Diagnostic Services.

The Commissioner intends to make a decision regarding procurement activities in the Autumn of 2015.

The views of providers will be highly valued and will be used to inform the service specification and procurement processes.

Please note that the Commissioner will not reimburse any cost to any Provider for participating in this RFI.
