Court Meadow Play Area Upgrade

The Council has existing play facilities comprising three distinct play areas:

• i)fenced toddler play area (ages 1-5)

• ii)fenced childrens play area (ages 6-12)

• iii)unfenced play area for all ages

These facilities have been in situ for greater than 20 years and, although well maintained, are dated by today's standards.

The proposed upgrade project would include:

1. Toddlers play area:

• a)Installing a modern shipwreck (or equivalent) type feature in the centre of the toddlers play area

• b)Resurfacing the toddlers area with new composite rubber surface

• c)Installing a new toddler swing-set

• d)Installing a new slide linking two play areas

• e)Installing a wooden den

• f)Replacing the fencing with new environmentally friendly multi-coloured plastic fencing

2. Childrens play area:

The existing childrens area will be re-fenced in the same style as the toddlers area

3. Unfenced play area:

• a)The existing disabled swing will be replaced with a more modern multi-use swing

• b)A selection of fun trail equipment and a number of picnic benches will be installed creating a virtual fence between the play area and the rest of the grassland.
