description
Arts Council England (ACE) operates as fund holder for Music Education Hubs (MEHs) on behalf of the Department for Education. As fund holder, ACE is responsible for providing advice, assessment, decision-making and monitoring the performance of Music Education Hubs against agreed delivery plans. ACE has committed funding up to March 2020 to the Music Education Hub Support Programme, ensuring Music Education Hubs have access to the best support available in order to maintain and expand on their work. This wider support programme includes various parts, one of which is the coaching element as outlined in this document.
The project scope includes the design and implementation of a coaching support/training programme, as well as related evaluation and reporting. The project would require regular contact with relevant Music Education Hubs as directed by ACE. The coaching programme offer should include:
| 1. | Design and planning of comprehensive programme offer |
| 2. | Delivery of monthly coaching sessions on a one to one basis on locations across England for selected participants over a 7-month period, with the aim to engage with a minimum of 12 participants, to be agreed with ACE |
| 3. | Delivery of minimum two one-day general coaching skills training sessions for max 20 participants/training, including elements of action learning |
| 4. | Evaluation report of the delivered activity |
The overall aim of the coaching offer programme is to provide leaders of Music Education Hubs: an understanding of coaching practices; the opportunity to explore their leadership and challenges through coaching (one to one provision); enable participants to learn basic coaching/action learning skills (general training sessions); and through the evaluation, contribute to the development of a wider framework for good leadership in Music Education Hubs enabling further development and benefits to children & young people benefiting from Music Education Hub provision.
