Job Title: Monitoring Officer
Rate of Pay: £16.06 per hour (Inside IR35)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: Sandwell Council House (Oldbury)

Brief description:
Sandwell Council's partnership with the voluntary and community sector is vital to delivering the ambitions of Vision 2030, and our grant programme provides support to organisations in the local area to provide key activities and services to our communities. The Voluntary Sector Support Team administers our multi-million pound grant programme on behalf of commissioners across the council, ensuring the council's funding is achieving value for money and contributing to our strategic priorities. The role of Monitoring Officer is integral to evaluating council support for the Voluntary Sector and ensure it successfully contributes towards council priorities.
Working as part of a small team, the role's key responsibilities include: • Supporting and monitoring voluntary and community groups in receipt of funding/grant aid agreements to obtain value for money; • Liaising with service areas and relevant agencies to maximise available resources for voluntary and community groups in Sandwell; • Drafting and finalising grant agreements between individual voluntary organisations and the Council; and • Supporting strategic voluntary organisations deliver agreed outputs/outcomes for the development of voluntary and community groups in Sandwell. Underpinned by a working knowledge of the voluntary and community sector, the successful candidate will have experience of: • Administering financial support for the voluntary and community sector • Monitoring and evaluation processes • Budget monitoring • Presenting reports • Working with minority ethnic communities and elected members.
This role is 37 hours per week, hybrid working- Council House, Oldbury and home. We require candidates who can start asap and the role will be for a period of 12 weeks with a view to extend until November 2022. Please see JD and PS attached for further information.
