Total Transport Pilot in East Cambridgeshire

Cambridgeshire County Council wishes to invite tenders for the delivery of a Flexible Minibus Service and a Booking & Information Centre, which will together form a core part of the Total transport project. Total Transport is an initiative which looks to deliver services more efficiently by bringing together all types of transport which the Authority supports.

The service will provide a public transport service for residents of the Total Transport pilot area (the northern part of East Cambridgeshire District) and will replace SOME of the following services;

? Specific contracted local bus services;

? Home-to-school transport;

? Day centre transport;

? Dial-a-ride services;

? Other social care journeys, for example to work placement.

The services will be divided into two lots:-

Lot 1 - It is intended that the Flexible Minibus Service will be the focus for the Authority's requirement for small vehicles in the pilot area. The Council requires a fleet of 11 vehicles to deliver the Flexible Minibus Service. Each vehicle will be staffed by a driver and passenger assistant, and will be accessible to wheelchair users and those with limited mobility. The service is intended to be fully inclusive and open to all members of the local community. Potential Providers may bid for any number of vehicles between one and eleven.

Lot 2 - The Booking & Information Centre will provide a single point of contact for residents of the Total Transport pilot area who wish to book or enquire about transport services that are financially supported by the Authority or its partners.
