description
This is a soft market testing exercise to determine the potential level of interest and appetite to engage in the development of a midscale hotel at West Street, Oldham, OL1 1QE.
This soft market testing exercise ("SMTE") is being undertaken by Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council ("the Council") to establish the appetite amongst developers and operators for a 4*, 120-bed hotel development with dining and conferencing facilities at West Street, Oldham, OL1 1QE.
The Council is the freehold owner of the 1.65 acre/0.67 hectare site cleared and, subject to planning permission, ready for development. The redevelopment of the site is an important element in 'Creating a Better Place', the ambitious £306m investment programme for the borough and town of Oldham as launched by the Council in January 2020. Sale, lease and operator agreements are all considered.
Details of the hotel opportunity are available in the form of a marketing brochure which is attached to this Contracts Finder notice. Interested parties are invited to contact Savills using the details below by 21st September 2020 in order to request access to a comprehensive data suite.

For the avoidance of doubt, this notice is for the purpose of conducting a SMTE exercise and will not formally begin a procurement or constitute any commitment by the Council to undertake a procurement exercise for the purchase and/or development of the site at West Street, Oldham, OL1 1QE. Organisations which do not participate in this SMTE will not be disadvantaged in any ensuing procurement process.
Additional information: Interested parties are invited to contact Savills, and not Oldham Council, in order to request access to a comprehensive data suite.
