Worcestershire Mineral Site Allocations Development Plan Document: Sustainability Appraisal

Worcestershire County Council (WCC) is the Mineral Planning Authority (MPA) for the county of Worcestershire. WCC's Minerals and Waste Planning Policy team is preparing a Mineral Site Allocations Development Plan Document (DPD).

Once adopted, the DPD will be used by the MPA to determine applications for mineral development.

The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 requires Sustainability Appraisal (SA) of the DPD.

Worcestershire County Council (WCC) is seeking tenders from suitably qualified and experienced consultants to provide legally-compliant Sustainability Appraisal (SA) of the emerging Mineral Site Allocations Development Plan Document (DPD), which satisfies the requirements of the SEA Regulations. Production should follow the established methodology set out in the government's Planning Practice Guidance and 'Practical Guide to the Strategic Environmental Assessment Directive', and the RTPI's Strategic Environmental Assessment practice advice.

The Contract duration will be for a period of 3 years 5 months.

The Service required is as detailed in the Service Specification (Appendix 1).
