description
Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service (GFRS) would like to explore and develop and understanding around the concept of Positive Action for rural communities and On-call stations.
We are seeking a sector specialist who have knowledge a Fire and Rescue Service especially with On-call Stations.
We are working towards a strict timeframe. It is key that the delivery of workshops take place accordance to working patterns across all on-call watches.
- 18 Workshops
- Locations: Gloucestershire County
- Starting 12 August - 19 September 2024 (Dates Confirmed)
- Drill Nights - 18.00 -21.00hrs (2-hour duration) (start times vary)
The Positive Action will enable GFRS to achieve the aim of employing a workforce that is representative of the communities that we serve, it is important to recognise that we will need to encourage applications from under-represented for jobs within Gloucestershire fire and rescue services. By using positive action initiatives and by providing a range of support mechanisms early in the firefighter recruitment process, we can help applicants to be more likely to succeed.
We are looking to develop a co facilitation model which delivers face to face workshops within a committed timeframe to build the capacity of understanding of positive action across the service. These workshops will focus on Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue On-call Stations.
Areas of development to include:
- How does Positive Action support the demographic of rural communities?
- What is rural Positive Action within the context of - Response, Prevention, Protection &
- Employment & what are we already doing?
- What can I do to support Positive Action?
- What can our On-call watch/station/team do?
- What further support do I/we need?
- What does great look like in terms of On-call Positive Action service delivery & employment?
- Undertake evaluation of sessions/recommend next steps & produce report.
