Purchase of Replacement Ring Main Unit

The Ring Main Unit protecting the cable to the Blewstar substation transformer is now of an age and condition that is considered unsafe to operate; therefore, this project is to replace it entirely with a new ring main unit of the same size and capacity to protect the Blewstar substation transformer. In addition, the high voltage cable feed to the substation has several joints that must be reduced under this project. The contractor will expose between 10 to 15 metres of the cable from the roadway where one joint exists up to the substation perimeter where there is an opening to draw a new section of cable into the substation cable channel.

During the installation of the new high voltage cable, the substation earthing will be improved with an earth tape installed alongside the high voltage cable feed as the existing earthing arrangements are old and not to an acceptable standard. The above scope of works can readily be prepared prior to a final connection (joinings and terminations).

2. - Click the 'ITTs Open To All Suppliers' link. (This Invitations to Tender open to any registered supplier).
2. - Click on the relevant ITT to access the content.
2. - Click the 'Express Interest' button at the top of the page. This will move the ITT into your 'My ITTs' page. (This is a secure area reserved for your projects only.
2. - You can now access any attachments by clicking 'Buyer Attachments' in the 'ITT Details' box.

3. Responding to the tender:
3. - Click 'My Response' under 'ITT Details', you can choose to 'Create Response' or to 'Decline to Respond' (please give a reason if declining).
3. - You can now use the 'Messages' function to communicate with the buyer and seek any clarification.
3. - Note the deadline for completion, then follow the onscreen instructions to complete the ITT There may be a mixture of online and offline actions for you to perform (there is detailed online help available).
3. - You must then submit your reply using the 'Submit Response' button at the top of the page.
