description
Future Leaders Connect is the British Council's long-term global network of emerging policy leaders. We identify exceptional young leaders from across the UK and around the world. We anticipate they will play a significant role in policy making and politics, leading to long term positive impact on social and economic development in their countries. Through a vigorous online application and TedX style presentations, they demonstrate their credentials and potential to make substantial change in their nations, countries and beyond. We introduce them to the influential leaders at UK Houses of Parliament and Government institutions so they can discuss their innovative policy ideas to tackle some of today's biggest global challenges.
We seek to commission learning and development experts to facilitate and deliver five days of learning and development in the UK focusing on policy leadership skills. This is a central part of Future Leaders Connect, and essential for achieving our impact objectives.
The learning and development will be delivered in the UK to an international group of 50 young leaders (aged between 18 and 35) selected by the British Council to join Future Leaders Connect. They will be selected on the basis of their ability and potential as future policy leaders. In 2018, these young leaders came from Canada, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Tunisia, UK and USA.
