PP15124 - St Mary's Primary Phase III Works - 2015

THE PROJECT Name: Primary Expansion Works (phase 3). Nature: Classroom extensions and alterations. Location: St Mary's Catholic Primary Academy, Cannock Road, Wolverhampton WV10 8PG. THE WORKS The Works comprise alterations and extensions to an existing school in nine sections as follows: Section 1 The construction of a new extension to provide a dining room, stores, catering kitchen with toilet, office and store, including the installation of catereing equipment partly obtained from the existing kitchen, and some associated alterations to the existing building. Section 2 The demolition of the existing staffroom and PPA room, and the construcion, in the approximate same location,of a new classroom and store, including some alterations to the existing building. Section 3 The construction of a new extension adjacent to two existing classrooms in order to increase the size of each of the classrooms (including the refurbishment of both), and also the construction of a new extenstion to provide one internal store and one external store. Section 4 Alteration works to convert the existing kitchen to toilets and shower room. Section 5 The construction of a new extension to provide two classrooms, stores and staff toilets, including alteration works to the existing building. Section 6 Alteration works to convert an existing classroom to a staff room and corridor. Section 7 Alteration works: (a) to convert a corridor to a staff resource room (b) to enlarge the size of one classroom (c) to amend the layout of the PPA room and stores (d) to convert four classrooms into three (e) to provide a stage in the Main Hall Section 8 and 9 Alteration works to convert three classrooms into two. The works also include associated mechanical and electrical installations. Drainage and alterations to existing drainage will be required to be carried out within each section of the works. External works (including site clearance) may be commenced at dates determined by the Contractor, but are required to be completed in two phases (sections 3 and 5). The commencement of sections are dependant on the completion of others. The contract: JCT Standard Building Contract With Quantities 2011 Edition issued September 2011 incorporating amendment 1 issued March 2015. It should be noted it is the Council's intention that this requirement will be awarded to a single supplier who will be responsible for the delivery of the entire works.
