Kent County Council (the council) is the largest county council in England covering an area of 3,500 square kilometres. It has an annual expenditure of over £900m on goods and services and a population of 1.3m. The Council provides a wide range of personal and strategic services on behalf of its residents, operating in partnership with 12 district councils and 289 parish/town councils. Demolition and reconstruction of 2 no. reinforced concrete piers as part of a multi span viaduct, close to the centre of Tunbridge Wells. Grosvenor Bridge KCC no. 1995 is a multi-span viaduct carrying a road of the same name, over the main Tonbridge to Hastings railway line and a private development area, to the north-east of the centre of Tunbridge Wells (OS grid ref. TQ 5888 4043).
