Derbyshire County Council (the "Council") has a requirement to dispose of all its surplus ICT equipment in compliance with UK and European Legislation. Responsible and traceable disposal ensures that sensitive data is not accidentally released. The key objectives for this service are for as little waste as possible to be sent to landfill, for all electrical and electronic waste to be treated and disposed of ethically and responsibly in compliance with WEEE and Environmental Agency regulations, and to minimise the Council's carbon footprint.
