description
Solihull Clinical Commissioning Group (SCCG) shortly intends to launch a procurement opportunity to source a service provider to operate a proposed Urgent Care Centre on the Solihull Hospital site. When established, the Urgent Care Centre will provide a single, innovative service that delivers urgent primary care and minor injuries treatment on 24 hours-a-day, 365 days-a-year basis, currently seeing some 120,000 attendances per year.
In undertaking the procurement, SCCG is working with a wide-range of stakeholders including (but not limited to) Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust (“HEFT”), who will continue to be the landlord for the Urgent Care Centre, the Midlands and Lancashire NHS Commissioning Support Unit and Solihull CCG’s own Patient Reference and Clinical Advisory Groups.
As part of the development of its strategy for the procurement, SCCG is seeking to further engage with potential service providers. This follows a Market Engagement Exercise conducted in autumn 2014, since when there has been significant work to agree and design the facility which will be available for this service. Accordingly, we announce the launch of a Market Engagement Event and invite any organisations that are interested in this opportunity to engage with us. This will comprise a Market Engagement event on 23rd July 2015. At the event attendees will :
- receive an overview of the service and clinical integration including facility design;
- receive information about activity and finance;
- hear the overarching procurement timeline and next steps
There will be an opportunity to view the architect’s site design for the facility, and attendees will also be able to receive further information from (and meet with) representatives of SCCG and HEFT, who will together outline their strategic aims and objectives for the Urgent Care Centre and receive questions from potential providers.
Note: the forthcoming procurement is solely for delivery of the Urgent Care Service; the Centre's design, build and re-fit will be undertaken by HEFT and is outside the scope of this procurement.
Please note also that participation in the market engagement exercise is not a mandatory requirement for participating in the procurement.
Registration for the Market Engagement Event will close at 5pm on 21st July 2015.
