This contract is for the provision of Arboriculture services throughout Tower Hamlets that meets the Council's requirement in order to safely carry out all works in relation to the Maintenance of Tower Hamlets owned tress within Parks and Highways

Tower Hamlets has a managed tree stock of around 25,000 trees and their ongoing management is required to establish best practice in accordance with British standards (BSI - 3988

Including tasks within the following scope of operations -

  1. Pruning operations - To meet BS 3998 - Undertaking works as specified to BSI standards
  1. Felling operations - To meet BS 3998 - Safe removal of trees within the borough as specified by an authorising officer
  1. Planting operations - To meet BS 8545 - The planting and maintenance of in excess of 90 tress per annum in locations as specified

The contract is to deliver the highest quality service available, in line with current British Standards, to ensure Insurance compliance and to create and sustain an exemplar of Good Arboriculture, to be provided by an Arboricultural Association approved Contractor.

The Council is committed to improving the quality of life for both residents and businesses within Tower Hamlets. In line with The Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 the authority will consider how this procurement might improve the economic, social and environmental well-being of the relevant area. In order to achieve this, it is our objective to work with existing and future contractors to secure an appropriate level of community benefits through the procurement process. Detailed guidance and minimum levels of the economic and community benefit applicable to this tender will be available within the tender documentation.
