description
The University of Southampton requires a subcontractor to deliver the synchrotron component of the UK National Crystallography Service. This will consist of a dedicated beamline scientist (1FTE) to provide expert analysis of small molecule single crystal diffraction data resulting from synchrotron access. Periodic access at least monthly would be required.
The synchrotron providing the service must meet our minimum technical specification of:
- sufficiently high flux levels to allow investigation of molecular organic crystals with an average size of 20 microns
- within the energy range 10-25keV
- data collection times of the order of 20 minutes
- automated sample changing facilities
- a sample temperature environment of 30-500K
