SSE Substation Construction - Carfax Close, Swindon

Swindon Borough Council invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced service providers for the provision of the construction of an SSE substation building, along with the completion of the necessary, associated trenching works.

Project Description

SSE currently have a substation on Carfax Close, which is required to be relocated as part of essential enabling works to accommodate the construction of a new office block. The office block forms the delivery of the first parcel of land of the Kimmerfields Development (Swindon Town Centre).

The new substation location will be on the opposite side of Carfax Close; its new location falls within the boundary of the Swindon Bus Station fronting on to Carfax Close. It will require close liaising with SSE (contacts shall be shared upon contract award) to programme in dates in which they attend to install equipment, cabling, jointing and decommissioning.

The approximate OS Grid Reference is 415154, 184961.

Contract Period

The initial contract term will be for 14 weeks as stated in the RFQ documents.
