Vehicle recovery, secondary movement, short/long term storage and release services for light vehicles (under 3500kg) and heavy vehicles (over 3500kg) and other to meet the operational and strategic policing needs of the Police in the north of the county of Kent (Gravesend, Dartford - a map of the exact area will be included with tender documents). This Prior Information Notice (PIN) is not a call for competition for the purposes of Regulation 26(9) of the Public Contracts regulation 2015 — a specific call for competition for this planned procurement is likely be published by means of a contract notice within the next 1-2 months. The purpose of this PIN is an early notification to the market of The Commissioner's intention to publish a contract notice for these services in the next 1-2 months. It is anticipated that contracts would be awarded towards the end of 2015 for service to commence early 2016, and that this contract or contracts will have a maximum 2 year duration (to be confirmed). This PIN is also to advise the market of a planned market engagement event. Early Market Engagement The Kent Police and Crime Commissioner seeks to engage with potential contractors to discuss options for delivering vehicle recovery services for light vehicles (under 3500kg) and heavy vehicles (over 3500kg) in the north of the county of Kent. A market engagement event in respect of this requirement will be held on the 28th July 2015 at the Force Control Room, Sutton Road, Maidstone, Kent ME15 9BZ. Time to be confirmed. The Commissioner wishes to understand better the capacity and capability of the market as a whole to provide the required services, encouraging competitive procurement and to identify potential risks. — The Commissioner encourages open, fair and transparent procurement and omission from any part of the market engagement event shall not be taken into account in any subsequent bidder selection or tender evaluation process.
