The aim of the Child Health Information Service (CHIS) is to ensure that each child in England has an active care record, supporting delivery of, as a minimum, screening, immunisation and the healthy child programme services.

The primary purpose of the Lancashire CHIS is to support the public health, health visiting, school nursing, Looked After Children (LAC), immunisation teams and primary care in the collection and distribution of immunisation schedules, developmental review schedules, other child health data and information in a timely and efficient manner.
