description
The Future Cities Catapult is in the process of building a business case for a new national project to build a large scale smart city and 5g demonstrator. By assembling a consortium of government, academia and industry organisations, the project will procure and construct a world leading large scale demonstrator to test and trial smart technologies and 5G products and services, at scale and in combination in a UK city.
The project has two aims. Firstly, to prove the commercial benefit of new products and services and mobilise private investment to support market creation. And secondly, to address the challenges growing cities face, such as health, energy, transport and economic development.
The successful supplier to conduct approximately 20 interviews with C-level representatives from leading market players across a range of sectors including energy, transport, logistics, water, waste, security, media and entertainment, robotics and security. The following topic areas should be addressed and explored by the market research study:
| • | Current processes |
| • | Establishing and quantifying demand |
| • | Technical Requirements |
| • | Operational Requirements |
| • | Governance Requirements |
| • | Timing |
The output will be in the form of a report containing both qualitative and quantitative responses and insights from approximately 20 market interviews, along with an accompanying list of contacts to enable further conversations in the future.
