Chichester District Council - Heating, Ventilation and Cooling Upgrade

Replace the existing ventilation plant with new and install new cooling units within the office space.

The South Wing of East Pallant House was built around 1980 and comprises two floors of offices, at Ground and 1st Floor level, above the Lower Ground Floor Council Chamber. Problems have been experienced in maintaining comfort conditions on both floors. Following a feasibility study, it has been decided to replace the existing ventilation plant with new and install new cooling units within the office space.

All installations will employ modern technology and controls to achieve minimum energy and water consumption. Sustainable principles will be used throughout the design. All installations must be reliable, durable and safe and easy to maintain.

As the building will be occupied during the works, it will be necessary to phase the installation and strip out to ensure that disruption to the users is minimised. As a consequence of the need to minimise disruption to the users, major structural works such as breaking through the roof and floor structures and the installation of major new ductwork, this work is to be undertaken out of hours.

The estimate for the project is between £140,000 to £160,000. Bids are invited below the budget limit. Bids received over the budget limit may not be considered. The budget value is excluding VAT.
